Sree Narayana Guru a Saint, and a Social reformer, worked in creating an egalitarian society. He stressed the need for social and spiritual upliftment of the downtrodden by their own efforts through the establishment of the educational institution. In conformity with this ideals of the Guru, Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti gave first preference to education and commenced its activities starting a High school in Mumbai.

In June 1975 a school building was ready for occupation and Sree Narayana Guru High School entered the sacred mission of imparting secular education with the starting of 2 division of Sr. K.G.Class.

In June 1976 the initial staff were Miss. Lily K (K.G Teacher), Mrs. Selvarani Nessaih (1st Std. Teacher) and Mrs. Geeta Venkatraman (1st Std. Teacher). They were followed by Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Mrs. Anant Sharma, Mrs. Santhalatha Narayanan and Mrs. Shobha J. Lawand. They were the four pillars who laid the foundation for an institution where children were nurtured to be vibrant and capable citizens.

The School had its natural growth every year adding the next higher class and came upto Std. X in the year 1985. The School (English Medium) has now 30 division with 1794 Students studying from Std. I to Std. X. The school has now 42 teachers and 11 members on the non teaching staff.
